Home care services that do not meet the criteria of insurers or government programs must be paid "out of pocket" by the patient or family.  Extended home care, when paid for privately without assistance from insurance, can get expensive if provided on a daily basis.  If cost is a concern, it is recommended that family assistance and other means of care are exhausted prior to initiating.
